Position Summary:  Under the supervision of a Water Resources Project Manager and design staff, the Water Resources CADD Designer performs a variety of design and drafting activities including preparing/updating construction plans, details, pipe profiles, and cross-sections, preparing mapping and topographic base files utilizing available GIS data, as well as establishing guidelines and procedures for CADD data management.  Sponsorship is not available for this position. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Collaborate with the Project Manager and design team members to develop and finalize Contract Plans, Notes, Details, Cross-Sections, and Pipe Profiles as needed Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes Review plans, specifications, and other client documentation as requested by the Project Manager Extract and manipulate design information from MicroStation 3D Design Software (Open Roads Designer and Drainage and Utilities (SUDA)) into final construction drawings Serve as an information source on CADD related questions for the Water Resources department as well as other disciplines throughout the JMT network Perform fieldwork (gather dimensions, field data, and process observations) Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills Proficient in MicroStation Connect Edition Proficient in MicroStation V8i (SS3 and SS10) Proficient in Bentley OpenRoads Designer Drainage and Utilities (DU) Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and 3D design software Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS software Excellent communications skills: interpersonal, oral and written Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office Able to obtain field dimensions and generate accurate sketches Able to generate 2D and 3D layout drawings from sketches and specifications Familiar with design parameters related to the Transportation and Infrastructure Civil Engineering Industry Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time

Required Experience 2-5 years of experience in sub-professional engineering work or equivalent experience with CADD High School diploma or equivalent (GED) Associate's degree in CAD/3D design (or equivalent) a plus Experience using MicroStation Connect Edition and ORD Software Preferred Experience Experience using AutoCAD 2D and 3D design software (preferred) Experience using ESRI ArcGIS software (preferred) Working Conditions Work is performed within a general office environment, with occasional outings to project sites for collecting field data. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
