Starting pay $19.00/hr, progressing to $21.00/hr.

As a Production Technician Apprentice in one of our seven Wyandotte, MI production, you will make an impact on the world with a fundamental focus on sustainability. As a Production Technician Apprentice, you will be a part of a team which produces products that range from custom catalysts for use in the food industry, home care products, pharmaceutics, oil & gas. To polyurethanes used in instrument panels, dashboards, truck bed liners, load floors, carpet padding, seat cushions, insulation, footwear, sports equipment, flooring/sports flooring and more!

Starting on or about August 22nd you…

Will begin a basic Process Technology certification program at Henry Ford College while working and learning on site in our Wyandotte, MI site from some of the best in the business. During your time here we don’t want you to sweat the small stuff so BASF will cover the entire cost of your educational program, including books!

When you’re not studying you will have opportunities to…

• Operate compressors, pumps, reactors, heat exchangers, steam boilers, valves, tanks, pressure vessels, instrument control systems, forklifts, hoists, flare systems, scales, lab testing equipment, computers, and other associated manufacturing equipment.

• Plant operations that include controlling flows, pressures, reactions, temperatures, makeup of solutions from batch sheets and formula cards, transfer of solutions/batches, loading/unloading chemicals to and from tanks, trucks, and rail cars.

• Cross training in additional production areas and supporting other members of the team in achieving a task or solving a problem.

• Disassembling and cleaning plant equipment, piping and pressure vessels as well as recognize and eliminate safety hazards.

• Support and continually apply all Quality Improvement, Safety, Ecology and Legal Compliance policies and procedures.

• Perform all necessary production/testing to ensure that product meets product specifications and tolerances for in-process product and release specifications for shipment of the product.

• Handle drums and drum dollies as well as perform additional duties as designated by the respective areas.

If you...

• Have a HS Diploma or GED

• Work in a plant environment and lift 50lbs

• Are able to work 12hr fixed shifts (day OR night/weekends and holidays)

• Are willing to enroll in a certificate program to launch a career in Manufacturing
