The Environmentally Conscious Design (ECD) Leader has the responsibility for developing a comprehensive strategy for the development of environmentally sustainable products for GE HealthCare globally. The ECD leader will develop Lean standard workflows to optimize investments in ECD activities and meet the environmental requirements from customers and regulators. This position will work with all relevant stakeholders across all functions of the organization.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Deliver Lean/Standard documentation, guidance and training for ECD

• Partner with GEHC Leadership to ensure that environmental sustainability is integrated into business strategies and implemented cross-functionally.

• Ensure that GEHC is aligned with global regulations and societal expectations, delivering a sustainable environmental performance

• Deliver Energy/CO2e Reduction per GEHC SBTi commitment for “use of sold products” as defined by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Scope 3 emissions

• Partner with key stakeholders & functional experts to ensure effective communication of ECD goals and objectives

• Support development of individual sub-business unit (SBU) targets

• Track, rollup and report overall progress to targets

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (EE or SW Engineering), and/or 10 years relevant product development experience

• Minimum of 5 years expertise with environmentally conscious design and/or sustainability programs.

• Strong subject matter expertise in environmentally conscious design standards and regulations impacting the broad GEHC product portfolio.

• Ability to create long lasting relationships with stakeholders, building trust through effective communication and strong interpersonal connections.

• Strong influencing skills to manage conflicts/unforeseen events.

• Knowledge of trade associations and standards development groups involving environmentally conscious design and regulations.

• Knowledge of ISO 17025 quality system standard.

Desired Characteristics

• Experience working in a highly regulated industry, preferably with time spent directly in product development, certification, testing, lab accreditation and global market entry requirements.

• 10 years relevant engineering, manufacturing, quality, or product compliance experience

• Knowledge of supply chain principles and experience working with material suppliers or sourcing functions.

• Familiarity with the broad GEHC product portfolio and demonstrated cross-functional and multi-product knowledge.

• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and with global, virtual teams.

• Passion for people development, and willingness to take risks.

• Proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes.
