What Instructional Design & Development contributes to Cardinal Health

Learning develops, deploys and evaluates learning solutions to support employee development and build organizational capability in alignment to business strategies. This function analyzes learning needs and develops training curricula, technologies, and programs. This function also manages trainings provided by third-parties and partners with leaders and subject matter experts within functions and business units to deliver learning.

Instructional Design & Development develops blended learning solutions optimized for unique subject matter areas and audiences, leveraging third-party and Learning Technologies capabilities. This job family analyzes employee learning needs and partners with subject matter experts and business management to gain input for course content. Instructional Design & Development develops general and technical content based on best practices, facilitates the introduction of new courses, and develops and monitors metrics for evaluating learning solutions' effectiveness.

The Senior Consultant, Instructional Design and Development, is a strategic partner in the L&D COE responsible for providing a full range of IDD consulting services to advance learning and development needs, including working in partnership to analyze learning needs and designing solutions aimed at achieving desired business outcomes. This Senior CIDD ensures the instructional integrity of learning design through systematic analysis, design, and evaluation.

Primary Duties:

  • Partners and consults with Leaders, Learning Business Partners (LBPs), key stakeholders and SMEs supported by the Learning and Development COE (Center of Excellence) to analyze learning needs based on performance and assessment data.

  • Identifies key behaviors and maps solutions and content to business goals.

  • Applies learning analysis principles and methodology to design performance-based solutions focused on outcomes.

  • Builds rapport and maintains relationships through strong learning consultation and business acumen.

  • Leads project teams with partners from start to finish, using delegation, influencing and project management skills to meet project goals on time and on brand.

  • Mentors less experienced IDD Consultants.

Qualifications

  • 10-16 years of Learning & Development experience, including:

  • Analysis and design of learning solutions

  • Learning evaluation

  • Proven success at implementing strategic design principles.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the development of strategy, program design, and implementation of learning initiatives that drive performance.

  • Proven ability to identify key behaviors and translate into learning strategies.

  • Ability to work with and interpret data from different sources.

  • Proven ability to design engaging, action-based curriculum to teach key behaviors and enhance user metrics.

  • Experience in using authoring software (including, but not limited to: Articulate Suite, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).

  • Able to adapt an agile way of working where impact is delivered through speed and innovation.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with and influence business partners.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure with multiple deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Change management experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.

  • Master’s degree strongly preferred in the area of Instructional Design.

  • Certifications: Any from Professional Associations for Instructional Design. CPLP preferred.

  • Role requires working in EST time zone - 5:00PM IST - 2:00AM IST

  • Flex-Hybrid work model - 3 days' work from office.
