Job Overview:
The Associate Structural Draftsman is responsible to perform detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on basic engineering tasks. They are responsible to apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring, prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures, organize own work to meet deadlines set by others, and clearly communicate information, asking questions and checking for understanding.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Work with project managers and engineers to generate drawings and details for building modeling
Complete basic piping designs and drawings with guidance from project management and engineering teams
Assist in the Interpretation of drawings and specs
Visit job sites to record field measurements and existing conditions
Perform drafting assignments requiring some judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations
Work with limited supervision, edit assignments involving the use of computer-aided design and drafting equipment
Able to use other graphics software to achieve set results and deadlines and at least 3+ years’ experience in AutoCAD
Willingness to assist with any additional and reasonable duties assigned by supervisor
Detail oriented, thorough, and accurate can efficiently solve problems
Learn the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable
Learn design techniques and analysis methods
Responsible for preparing various drawings that communicate engineering ideas, designs, and information in support project execution
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Diploma in Naval Architecture, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Design
Entry-level position or less than 3 years’ experience in oil and gas
Fluent in English & Portugues.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- Preferably Registered Engineer in Training(EIT) or member of professional engineering society
