Job Overview:

Perform detailed design engineering, analysis and calculations on basic engineering tasks. Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring. Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures. Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others. Clearly communicate information, asking questions and checking for understanding.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed design engineering, analysisand calculations on basic engineering tasks.

  • Apply knowledge and skills to complete routineassignments under close supervision and mentoring.

  • Prepare clear and accurate detaileddesign calculations and analyses includingdesign reports and procedures.

  • Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others.

  • Clearly communicate information, asking questions and checking understanding.

  • Gain an understanding of the projectscope of work, specifications, schedule,and all inter-discipline requirements.

  • Prepare sketches of detail designto guide designers.

  • Review MTOs for requisitions.

  • Check drawings.

  • Keep the Lead Engineer apprisedof all activities, progress, and concerns.

  • Develop an awarenessof costs relatedto own work.

  • Develop basic understanding of MDR’s businessand customers it serves.

  • Develop basic knowledgeof MDR’s businessunits and interactions including engineering, fabrication, and marine functions.

  • Develop advanced skillsin use of standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Preferably Registered Engineer in Training(EIT) or member of professional engineering society

  • Entry-level position,or less than 3 yrs experience in oil and gas

  • Bachelor Degree in Naval Architecture, Civil / Structural / Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Learning the content and application of standards, codes and guidelines as applicable. Learning design techniques and analysis methods.

  • Masters in Naval Architecture, Civil / Structural / Mechanical Engineering
