The training specialist position will develop and manage the project level training program for the SLDA project. This will include working with various disciplines to develop training stubs, training materials and schedules needed to complete training requirements.

The training specialist will also be responsible for working with different subject matter experts in safety, operations, security, emergency response, radiological safety, and nuclear safety to identify training requirements, align those requirements to staff, and generate training matrices for all personnel assigned to the site.

The training specialist will oversee and manage all training conducted on site and assist presenters (subject matter experts) during training. Assistance will include development of training materials, organizing and scheduling classes, proctoring exams, and maintaining records.

The training specialist will work closely with the site access specialist to ensure that personnel holding site access credentials (badges) maintain their training required for site access as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field, e.g., safety, engineering, health physics, environmental science.

Minimum of two years supervisory experience including the development, implementation, and oversight of a training program.

Minimum of five years experience in management and implementation of training programs utilizing a process equivalent or like the “systems approach to training” defined in 10 CFR.

Minimum of seven (7) years experience in training development and delivery with specific focus on health physics, occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, waste management, NCS, MC&A, physical security, and emergency management.

Strong organizational skills capable of developing and using a variety of tracking resources such as databases, and spreadsheets.

Ability to communicate and collaborate with technical experts from a variety of disciplines.
