What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering (EAML). CIBC is committed to protect the safety, soundness and reputation of CIBC by reducing the likelihood that CIBC will be used as a vehicle for, or become a victim of, Money Laundering or Terrorist Financing (ML/TF) activities. You’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s EAML Team, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale mobile projects involving multiple back-end systems. As an Application Consultant, you will build, implement and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience. You’ll lead the planning and strategy for the technical design, development and integration of these applications.

The Consultant, Application Development is responsible for leading the technical design, solution requirements and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems and provide enhancements to existing technologies. The role works on complex issues involving one or more technical areas, mentoring employees and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth.

The Consultant, Application and Development collaborates with developers, architects and infrastructure specialists to gather requirements and conduct research to evaluate the application of new and emerging tools and techniques, identifying patterns and best practices to consider in technology proposals while anticipating long term business issues. The role devises new methods and procedures using strong analytic and inductive thinking, developing project plans based on appropriate standards and methodology.

How You'll Succeed

  • Design and Development - Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.

  • Strategic Planning - Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.

  • Leadership Skills - Act as the mobile development team lead and run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet objectives. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.

  • You can demonstrate experience in: Case Management – ActOne, Customer Due Diligence (CDD) , Unified Data Manager (UDM), and Analytics Intelligence Server (AIS) . This role will also be working with the Oracle SQL – creating databases, database objects, writing complex queries or stored procedures, exporting DMLs, DDLs, etc. You will also be handling Anti-money Laundering with Actimize. Hands on Knowledge of Shell Scripting and Java. Great understanding of Autosys, OpenShift, and CI/CD Pipeline. It is an asset if you are familiar with Agile methodologies and Cloud environments (Azure/OCP or equivalent).
