Embark on a thrilling journey with WSP as we seek a dynamic Intermediate Mechanical BIM Modeler for our GTA Buildings Mechanical and Electrical Transportation Group . Reporting directly to our BIM Manager, you will be the driving force behind the mechanical design and BIM 3D modeling for groundbreaking transportation projects. In addition, you will also play a pivotal role in leading the GTA M&E team towards 100% BIM adoption and extensive use of design automation for project delivery as part of a major corporate initiative.

Ideally you will bring 5+ years related experience with a high level of knowledge in BIM design in a Mechanical design office. Previous experience with design automation is considered a major asset.

• 3D modeling of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems in general;

• Assist designers with system design and modeling of duct work, hydronic heating and cooling piping;

• Prepare Mechanical installation details;

• Work individually or part of the team to develop the drawings for submission;

• 3D modeling of Plumbing including domestic water, Sanitary and Storm Systems;

• 3D modeling of Natural Gas piping for buildings and site services;

• Assist with Mechanical Designers and EIT’s with system design;

• Assist with corporate BIM standards, policies and procedures;

• Assist with developing cutting edge tools to support BIM team in efficient workflows;

• Coordinate with WSP’s offshore design team;

• Stay-up-to date with the latest trends related to BIM and design automation

• Superior knowledge of Revit, BIM360, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM Revit add-ins support tools; including but not limited to Newforma Konekt, RF Tools, Interoperability tools, pyRevit (Rapid Application Prototyping – Pad), etc.

• Previous experience with supporting National or Regional BIM standards considered an asset;

• Previous experience with design automation and production through technology considered an asset;

• Passion for BIM technologies with ability to promote these technologies and practices to increase user effectiveness;

• Superior interpersonal skills;

• Able to communicate clearly and effectively;

• Strong, self-motivated work ethic with ability to be effective and timely while providing consistent follow up;

• Organized and methodical with a resourceful capacity for resolving challenges;

• Knowledge of Duct Sizing (working with ductulator), and Pipe Sizing (SAN, STM, W, G) is considered an asset;

• MicroStation knowledge and familiarity with TTC Standards are considered an asset;

• Ability to script in Dynamo/Python programming are desirable;
