Copeland IT Category Manager - VMO in St. Louis, Missouri

The IT Category Manager will be one of the key resources for the IT Director of VMO by providing support, research, contract management, negotiation, and financial analysis services. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, strong analysis skills, relationship management and negotiating skills, and a strong desire to manage Copeland-wide IT initiatives.

One of the key responsibilities for the next 4-6 months is to focus on the IT contract activities required to enable Copeland to operate as a standalone company.

In this role, the analyst works globally with Copeland Platform and Business Unit functional and IT representatives, Copeland Legal Counsel, Copeland IT Cybersecurity, and numerous vendors.

As an IT Category Manager, you will:

  • Support and help manage the relationship between Copeland business functions and business units and third-party vendors, to ensure that the proper support and attention are given to the Copeland account

  • Lead RF(x) initiatives with consultation from business stakeholders

  • Provide Commercial Agreement read-through and mark-up – Contractual Terms and Conditions

  • Develop, monitor, and report on Vendor Performance Metrics

  • Lead supplier business reviews

  • Review and validates savings

  • Support annual strategic sourcing plan

  • Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with key third party vendors

  • Collect data and/or conduct analysis of spend and usage to ensure compliance to agreements, optimal usage, and to identify leverage opportunities

  • Help identify new areas of opportunity for Copeland through project work and research.

  • Drive communication programs that help ensure the dissemination of critical information to business functions regarding vendor relations and strategic programs

  • Create tracking mechanisms and financial models that aid in the management process.

  • Provide support to global procurement processes and activities

  • Assist in reporting and metrics development

  • Participate in strategy and staff meetings, other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s/Masters Degree in Business, Information Systems, or other related field

  • 3-5 years of work experience in the information technology, IT strategic sourcing, or IT asset management field

  • Experience sourcing Business Applications, Software, Hardware, Telecom, SaaS, PaaS, Etc…

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Knowledge of Excel and other tools that facilitate large volumes of data (Excel, SQL, Access)

  • Solid Teamwork Skills – works well with a diverse team

  • Ability to work in ambiguity and excel under pressure

  • Experience with negotiation and contract management

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong working understanding of business applications, hardware, or telecommunications

Schedule

  • General working hours for his role are 8 am to 5 PM
