Description
JOB SUMMARY
Support existing equipment and assembly projects as needed. This will include on-site support, remote support and documentation support as needed. Also includes retrofit, change support, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), and Site Acceptance Test (SAT). Also provide controls hardware engineering, and software engineering, to the project team that is delivering 'turn-key' custom automation equipment as needed on existing projects.
Pay Range - $30.00 - $48.00/hr
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Travel to customer sites for evaluation, installation, debug, and support.
Work with the project team on the existing project to do the following:
Understand the project requirements
Further define the system architecture in the existing project
Design additions to the electrical controls system
Generate updated AutoCAD schematics and panel layouts
Prepare the Bill of Materials (BOM's)
Release hardware design to the field or shop
Support the build of the equipment
Design, write, modify the controls system software
Debug and commission the equipment
Review and understand electrical and pneumatic controls designs utilizing AutoCad Electrical for drawing changes as needed.
Troubleshoot the interconnections of peripheral hardware, such as but not limited to; servo motors, Vision, Robots, leak test systems, LVDT's, data collection systems and possible industrial network communications.
Work as needed on the wiring and plumbing of equipment.
Write modifications to the control system software.
Refine Human to Machine Interface (HMI) programs and integrate with the controls system.
Adhere to established controls standards and procedures.
Observe safety procedures.
OTHER DUTIES

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in related engineering field.
Hardware Experience:
AutoCAD Electrical - review & design
Understanding Documentation and Certifications
CE, UL, CSA, CCC
Pneumatic Design and flow calculations
Hardware familiarity (SMC, Festo, etc)
Fluid design and flow calculations
Programming Experience:
PLC's, HMI's and Motion Control
Allen Bradley - Studio 5000, FactoryTalk
Siemens - TIA Portal, SIMATIC Manager
Robots
Fanuc, ABB, Epson, Staubli
Vision System
Primarily: Cognex, Keyence
Industrial Protocols
Ethernet/IP, Ethernet TCP/IP, Profinet, EtherCat
SQL Database integration for product traceability
Other peripheral devices
Leak Testers
Lasers (welding and marking)
Force and Displacement monitoring
