Actalent Senior Design Engineer in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Description:
Take product from conception to manufactured design
Perform mathematical analysis as part of the design process
Read, interpret, and develop high-precision mechanical drawings
Draw control systems, including the execution of BOMs
Prepare suppressor and accessory designs based on project scope and deliverables
Maintain close knowledge of industry designs and trends in the suppressor market
Develop new product design concepts combined with research and testing data and analysis
Ability to think analytically and see if design will function how it is supposed to
70% individual work and 30% team work
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
3-5 years of design experience working with precision mechanical systems
Extensive work experience in CFD/FEA design space of silencers/suppressors
3-5 years of experience with Autodesk Inventor
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and precision metal machining methods
Understanding of ANSI GD&T
Firearms knowledge in weapons systems function
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to recommend effective solutions
Must be able to complete firearm and suppressor live fire testing
Great Candidate:

Ability to pivot and prioritize to multiple projects from day to day
