Job Description Summary
The NDT Level III Engineer is responsible for managing and establishing internal NDT process and system and other assigned special process.
This position will touch all aspects of industrial gas turbine component repair process and develop the key solutions to solve inspection issues, as well as to train the technicians and audit the process.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Drive processes to continuously improve the safe, quality, delivery and costs and ensure compliance with all governing specifications, codes, and standards
Administer the NDT Program, responsible for NDT Level III duties to include processes, procedures, techniques, training, qualification, and certification
Experience in implementing and qualify new NDT processes, including Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, Visual, and Eddy Current, having a working knowledge of each technology and its strengths and limitations to ensure the proper inspection technique for the task.
Ability to troubleshoot, provide technical leadership, and correct NDT processes while maintaining product and process flow.
Implement and qualify other assigned special process, procedures and techniques
Train and mentor Level I and Level II NDT technicians both on the Shop Floor and in the Classroom
Perform process assessments and leadership in audits
Research and implement new Inspection techniques and technologies to improve current processes.
Ensure safe practices are used in compliance with all governmental regulations
Identify, drive, mentor, and implement projects that improve overall production quality
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university with at least 6 years of experience in an engineering or quality position
Current ASNT NDT Level III certification in Ultrasonics, Penetrant, Magnetic Particle or Eddy Current
Desired Characteristics
· Knowledge of Manufacturing or gas turbine repair industrials.
· Strong organizational, analytic, and problem-solving skills
· Understanding of various measurement processes and control methodologies for Gas Turbine components
· Ability to work in cross-functional teams in a matrix environment with all levels of personnel
· Strong working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality operations
· Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
· Ability to coach, manage, change and facilitate team performance
· Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions.
