Blue Origin LLC Tube Shop Technician in Seattle, Washington

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for developing, fabricating, and inspecting tubes and tube assemblies for space launch vehicles. Using CNC tube benders and Vector measuring machines, you'll create these parts from drawings, XYZ data, Pro-E files, LRAs, and tangent points. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities: Fabricate and install hydraulic, pneumatic, and propellant tubing Work with engineers to review design concepts, provide feedback for ease of assembly, and support development tests Review, edit, and follow work instructions for assembly tasks Plan and communicate assembly steps for complex mechanical installations Safely work with hazardous systems, containing chemicals and/or high-pressure Qualifications: 2+ years' experience in aerospace or related fields Ability to use standard mechanical tools, and fabrication shop equipment (band saw, chop saw, grinders, drills, etc.) Capable of using precision tools to accurately measure tight tolerances (calipers, height gauge, scales, etc.) Ability to read and understand aerospace 2D/3D drawings Experience with various thin wall alloys (316 SS, Inco 625, CRES 21-6-9) Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: 1+ years' experience with programming and set up of CNC tube bending machines 1+ years' experience with setting up, developing, and manufacturing tube assemblies from start to finish Knowledge of CNC bending software (Light speed/Bend Pro) Experience measuring and inspecting tube assemblies using a vector measuring machine 1+ years' experience programming and setting up CNC tube bending machines Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight-critical hardware Knowledge of drawing review, scheduling systems, work order systems, inventory, and various issue-tracking systems Working knowledge of a variety of tube/fluid applications including GN2, GHe, hydraulics, and cryogenics Ability to use 3D CAD tools (CREO is preferred), and ability to read and interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard Orbital tube welding experience Experience cleaning tube systems to aerospace or medical standards Must be physically able to: Climb ladders and stairs, and work in small, restricted areas Lift and carry 25 lbs.
