Blue Origin LLC Rocket Engines Structural Analyst III in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Design and develop rocket engines and propulsion systems that meet Blue Origin's launch vehicle program requirements for various spaceflight systems. Conduct detailed structural analyses using FEA and classical methods on valves and integration components including primary & secondary structures, instrumentation hardware, thrusters, ancillary lines, and so on. Provide mentorship to other structural engineers to improve the performance of designs. Authoring or reviewing structural reports to support requirements, collaborating with IPT teams to ensure deliverables are met on schedule, and working with program and functional leadership to tackle structural problems. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or other related technical degree 6+ years of experience in structural analysis utilizing commercial FEA tools Experience with structural modeling of pressurized components, rocket engine hardware, or similar high-performance hardware. Excellent understanding of structural analysis/mechanics, Statics, Fatigue, Fracture, Dynamics Ability to work effectively in teams. Be self-directed and capable of multi-tasking. Successful at communicating structural analysis results effectively. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical/ Workbench Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc.) Experience with structural modeling of aerospace or other high-performance primary and secondary structures Don't meet every single requirement?
