The Lead -Sanand Government Affairs will have an additional responsibility of coordinating with International Government Affairs team located at Washington DC related to International Trade, Incentives, Regulations and Advocacy related issues. Position has the responsibility to evaluate and influence government policies and programs that will be supportive of the Company in pursuing its growth strategies in India. This will include providing government interface support to business development opportunities related to Finance, taxation, marketing and sales, external affairs and commercial activities as deemed strategic by the company. In addition, this position is expected to deepen the relationship with Trade Bodies in India in coordination with local Government Affairs, IMG team and Washington DC colleagues.

• Key role /responsibility is to lead the Company’s Government inter-face in Federal Government and State Governments, special focus on Gujarat State.

• Strengthen the Company’s relationship with key government policy makers and targeted influencers at the Central Government offices and State Government levels of Gujarat

• Develop and assist to execute advocacy plan that targets key issues and government challenges for the business in alignment with the Senior Management

• Provide feedback on Federal and State level policy development and its implications to the GA Country Director and Senior Management in India and to Washington DC team and influence the decisions impacting the company business.

• Work with trade and industry associations, consulates and other bodies, to drive company business interests.

• Work closely with other departments – Legal, Taxation, Finance, Manufacturing, Communication and other functions – to provide professional counseling and to resolve government related issues.

• Strategically inform about company’s achievements / progress and communicate effectively to key opinion and government leaders at the Federal level and State level

• In coordination with Communication, develop a strategy for and subsequently oversee the execution of local community development programs under corporate social responsibility activities.

• Should have at least 10-12 years of appropriate government affairs experience, focused on managing complex subject matter.

• Exposure or experience in dealing with Ministers in the Central and State government and rapport with senior bureaucrats and other officials, special focus on Gujarat

• A demonstrated record of managing and leading an effective government affairs function including exemplary skills at working on multiple projects with teams

• Relevant exposure and experience in working with MNCs, preferably in manufacturing sector

• Ideally, candidate should have a strong track record of developing strategies and achieved visible results

• Candidate should be a Postgraduate from a reputed University / Institution. Advanced degree or the equivalent in business, government and public policy or related area is preferred.

• Require that the person has strong and mature judgment and able to quickly win the trust of other people
