Description
Robert Half is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Controller to join the ranks at a well-respected manufacturing/distribution company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Major responsibilities
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Requirements
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
CPA required
Public Company experience
SOX experience desired
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field required
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
