About being our Office Land Surveyor

As our professional-trackLand Surveyor, you will support our Survey and Geospatial team out of ourRoseville, Californiaoffice at Psomas. This is an opportunity to grow your skill set and progress in your career as you provide support for our clients and the varied services their projects require. If one of your goals is to be able to sit for your PLS, this is your opportunity!

Responsibility Highlights for our Office Land Surveyor

  • Organize and coordinate projects, which include a broad range of assignments requiring knowledge of surveying/mapping.
  • Research and analyze title reports, including placement of easements and encumbrances
  • Resolving boundaries for individual parcels as well as large land net surveys
  • Production of topographic mapping often incorporating various methods of data collection including LiDAR scanning, aerial (conventional/drone) and conventional survey data
  • Produce and/or oversee the production of survey documents related to land acquisition including right of way strip maps, appraisal plats and legal descriptions
  • GIS - provide support services in developing geodatabases for client GIS systems
  • Prepare field packages and coordinate with field crews
  • Perform and/or oversee the production of construction staking calculations

Minimum Qualifications to be our Office Land Surveyor

  • 3 Years' experience as an Office Land SurveyororBS Degree in Geomatics or related field
  • Experience or training in survey-related computer-aided drafting including one or more of the following programs: AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation
  • Knowledge of foundational principals of surveying through schooling, certificates, and/or experience
  • Willingness and ability to l arn the skills needed to develop into a multi-faceted office surveyor

Preferred Qualifications for our Office Land Surveyor

  • LSIT Certification
  • Two-year technical school in survey technology or 4-year degree in Geomatics or related field
