FULL-TIME [Exempt] : 40 hours

Coordinated Care Services Inc (CCSI) (https://positions.paylocity.com/PositionManagement/wizard/2033511) seeks a talentedAssistant Director, Institute for Police, Mental Health, and Community Collaborationto contribute their expertise in providing essential business services to our provider organizations and customers. CCSI provides the specialized staffing and technical assistance needed to advance the critical work of the Institute for Police, Mental Health and Community Collaboration (the Institute), a statewide initiative that works in collaboration with the New York State Office of Mental Health (NYS OMH) to improve crisis response systems. The shared vision of the Institute and NYS OMH is to assist localities across the state in evolving their crisis response systems to be less reliant on law enforcement when responding to individuals in emotional distress and to help police be more prepared when called to respond to individuals in crisis. On occasion, the Institute conducts other work (independent of the NYS OMH) within NYS and elsewhere. TheAssistant Director for Police, Mental Health, and Community Collaborationis responsible for assisting the Director in all aspects of Institute operations and independently leading some activities.

CCSI is partnering with theInstitute for Police, Mental Health and Community Collaboration to hire anAssistant Director.This position is employed by CCSI and working on behalf ofthe Institute for Police, Mental Health, and Community Collaboration

.In this role, you will be

  • Actively participates in all aspects of the Institute’s work, including but not limited to: conducting Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) mapping, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training, CIT Train-the-Trainer workshops, and Mobile Access Program (MAP) training and monitoring activities.

  • Contributing to planning for the ongoing expansion of the Institute’s work, including but not limited to additional consulting and training opportunities.

  • Providing subject matter expertise on curriculum development – with a specific emphasis on ensuring issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are thoroughly addressed in all training materials.

  • Collaborating with individual CIT and MAP localities to create outcome monitoring programs to evaluate progress in reaching identified goals.

  • Working with individual localities to assist in their development and implementation of quality improvement processes.

  • Leading the development and implementation of internal tracking mechanisms to organize the work of the Institute. Looks for opportunities to improve or refine key workflows to problem-solve issues and improve practices for increased efficiency. Leads the development of quality improvement processes to improve the work of the Institute.

  • Coordinating and organizing the work of the Institute, including but not limited to, working with the Director, Institute consultants, NYS OMH personnel, and localities across the State to schedule SIM Mapping, CIT training, and MAP activities.

  • Increasing the Institute’s social media presence.

  • Collaborating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including State agency partners, local government, law enforcement, community providers, peers, family members, and other key figures working to improve the mental health-criminal justice interface in the development and delivery of Institute services.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field required

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing clinical services to individuals with mental illness and/or substance use disorders.

  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience, preferred.

  • Experience collaborating with law enforcement, 911 (and/or other emergency call centers), and other providers of emergency services.

Additional Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of all required background screenings.

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in crisis services design, delivery, and assessment, including understanding the complexity of the relationships between law enforcement, providers, and community members.

  • Ability to independently evaluate data, develop explanatory hypotheses, and propose solutions/interventions, when warranted.

  • Skilled presenter/educator; able to effectively engage a broad audience both in person and via other communication channels.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Comfortable presenting to or facilitating groups – both formal and informal.

  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills. Able to promote and sustain collaboration across diverse groups and stakeholders.

  • Excellent organizational skills as evidenced by the ability to develop and implement quality improvement strategies and tracking mechanisms for work projects.

  • A willingness to travel regularly.

Salary Description

$80,000 - $85,000 annually
