Parsons Corporation Technical Writer Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Technical Writer Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to drive the documentation for the Quality standards, processes and activity guides for one of the largest programs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Working under the direction of the XCS Quality Assurance Director, the Technical Writing Manager will develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards. The Technical Writing Manager will need to gain a deep understanding of Assurance products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content. The Technical Writing Manager will develop and maintain detailed data bases of reference materials, including research, and design specifications.

The Technical Writing Manager will provide direction and support in the development of Qiddiya Assurance communication material and organizational improvements to the XCS Assurance functional areas of Quality, Health, Safety and Welfare, and Environment and Sustainability and XDS Project Delivery teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements

  • Gather information from subject matter experts and develop, organize and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation

  • Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage

  • Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards and allow for easy data migration

  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 4-year degree in journalism, communications, or relevant technical field and minimum of 8 years of related work experience in construction or similar field, including managerial experience.

  • Required knowledge of organizational practices, processes, and current technology. Business Management experience with knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment Management

  • Eight or more years of experience as an effective technical writer

  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter

  • Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences

  • Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail

  • Experience in working with engineers to improve user experience (ex: design, UI), refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Firm understanding of SDLC (systems development lifecycle)

  • Previous experience in HSEQ Procedure development

  • Professional certification (ex: Society for Technical Communication)

  • Experience in using XML tools to create documentation
