In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.

We are seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to join our team in Richardson, Texas as an Integration Verification & Test Lead. In this role you will lead integration of large-scale software and infrastructure products, as well as guide and mentor the team members through our scope. In addition to providing this valuable professional guidance and leadership to this role, you will need to perform functional testing of components across the system.

What You Will Do

  • Lead a set of 4-8 employees through the integration and test activities of a software-based system in a DevSecOps environment

  • Communicate and present complex technical issues across various audiences including customers, executives, program management, and individual contributors

  • Ensure root cause of issues and anomalies are identified and documented, communicate impact to both schedule and functionality, and that resolutions are implemented and verified

  • Manage the test environments ensuring equal load share of Feature tests for the ADT testers

  • Be aware of the state of each environment

  • Manage the installation of bugs and hot fixes into that environment

  • Assigns the various bugs and hot fixes to be tested

  • Maintain awareness of which features are committed in each release and which testers are assigned to enable load balancing between testers

  • Performing regression testing and advance test automation

  • Obtain and maintain access as required by program

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of prior relevant experience

  • Experience supporting system integration of a software-based system in a DevSecOps environment, including:

  • Experience with the Atlassian Suite, including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket

  • Integration plans and procedures

  • Integrated test planning: schedule and resource evaluation, and developing plans showing dependencies and linkages

  • Communication of status against cost and schedule

  • Experience with configuration management

  • Experience leading an engineering team through the integration/test of a software based system

  • Experience working in a cross-disciplinary team environment, ensuring that program and product objectives are met

  • Active and transferrable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Earned Value Management, including Risk and Opportunity

  • Systems Engineering (SE) experience on a large government software development contract

  • Experience with SE process development and deployment

  • Experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), using DOORS, Enterprise Architect, and JIRA, or similar tools

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
