Providence St. Joseph Health Senior Network Engineer IS in Renton, Washington

Description Seeking an experienced cloud network engineer to join a team of network engineers supporting cloud, data center, and carrier grade networks in a healthcare environment. You will be a member of a team of engineers, both onshore and offshore, and will need to be able to communicate and work together with other engineers to implement new solutions and/or troubleshoot issues. Network Engineers work in partnership with developers, testers, and program managers, (typically early in the development process) to design, operate, grow, and improve large-scale, computer-based services offered to IS, non-IS and clinical caregivers. Their technical skills are on par with their Development, Test, and Program Management counterparts. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering. Or equivalent education/experience. 5 years Related experience; 5-8 years preferred. Experience in Cloud Networking (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI) Experience with source code control systems such as Git. Experience in automation, specifically related to deployment, recovery, or other manual processes. Experience with resilience modeling (failure mode analysis) and ability to simulate service outages for point solutions (automated) and platforms (manually). Experience leading and representing the Service in backlog discussions and standups to establish appropriate prioritization of Live Site requirements. Good experience leveraging data and metrics to drive behavior, process, and priority decisions. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Experience in problem solving using systematic procedures and investigating problems utilizing root cause analysis. Proven track record of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplined team. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Healthcare environment. Experience in Cisco ACI/IOS/NX-OS, Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto Experience with agile methodologies and tools such as Azure Devops, TFS, and Jira. Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum development environment. Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM, etc. Certified in Cisco or equivalent (CCNA, CCNP, etc.) Why Join Providence?
