The Buyer performs duties associated with all aspects of the purchasing process including researching products and market trends to recommend suppliers, analyzing quotations received, and so much more!

Job Duties Research products, prepare purchase orders and place orders, and select vendors Organize product information and track back orders Obtain materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need Study market trends, interview vendors and recommend sources of supply Analyze quotations received, select or recommend suppliers, and schedule deliveries Develop and maintain necessary records and files for efficient operation Ensure that materials are cost-effective Assist in determining and ensuring the quality of materials Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to maintain adequate levels of parts and raw materials to manufacture the product Work to resolve materials issues while achieving and maintaining inventory business metrics Find new suppliers when needed May be responsible for working from blueprints to determine the specifications for the parts needed to produce the product Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.) Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education Perform work under general supervision Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter Typically require a bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of experience
