Insight Global Disaster Recovery System Administrator in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description

As a System Administrator and Specialist in IT Disaster Recovery, your role involves maintaining computer systems, overseeing server management, and ensuring data backups and security. You'll also generate reports, coordinate software updates, and monitor system components such as memory and CPU. Understanding systems design and configuration is crucial, and strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

In the context of IT Disaster Recovery, you'll collaborate with third-party vendors, acquire a working knowledge of their essential policies, and serve as a point of contact for establishing and maintaining test relationships. You'll assess vendor risks, review contracts, identify gaps, and offer recommendations. Familiarity with regulatory guidelines related to third-party disaster recovery programs is vital.

Your responsibilities extend to acting as a liaison during audits and examinations of third-party disaster recovery processes. You'll establish and maintain business partner relationships for third-party testing, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of interdependencies and post-test management. Providing ongoing feedback on risk management, mitigation, and prevention is part of your role.

Additionally, you'll coordinate with IT technical staff to prepare, maintain, and test disaster recovery solutions consistently. Developing comprehensive test requirements is essential for successful execution. As a leader, you'll organize and lead external DR exercises, including tabletop simulations and full DR testing. Representing external disaster recovery cost requirements during annual budgeting and regularly reporting Third Party Disaster Recovery activities to risk management are critical aspects.

Lastly, your ability to adapt to changing requirements and navigate ambiguity will significantly contribute to the success of the disaster recovery program

Skills and Requirements

  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience dedicated to IT infrastructure systems

  • 5+ years of disaster recovery operations and management

  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience and or Technical Project Management

  • 3+ years of delivering results using an Agile Framework (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and Atlassian (Jira/Confluence)

  • Must be comfortable acting as liaison for OC TPT and examination of disaster recovery processes

  • Strong time management and organization skills

  • Successfully developed and implemented business continuity program life cycle plans and source deliverables (e.g. risk assessments, bias, continuity planning) is essential

  • Experience establishing, managing and communication with Business Partners to cultivate strong partnerships

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of current disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies as well as the methods used in performing risk and business impact analysis

  • Understanding of elementary IT network principles is critical

  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to convey plans, exercises, and activities.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead the testing of emergency response, recovery support, and business resumption procedures

Office

  • MS Office Suite, MS Project, Visio * SharePoint Experience a plus

  • Continuity Planning accreditation and Fusion ITDR SaaS is a plus

  • DCO / ITO operations background is recommended

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • Remedy, Troux, xMatters, MIR3 working experience is beneficial. null
