Duties & Responsibilities


  • Ensuring that Oceaneering’s HSE Management System and expectations are fully implemented with Regional Operations and compliant with local regulations
  • Coordinating and maintaining the in-house competency program by completing/administering technical field audits, visual acuity checks and Company Signatory Approvals
  • Maintaining the Training Matrix and ensuring compliance
  • Controlling test samples
  • Providing assistance and technical support to base and field technicians
  • Assisting the line management in facilitating the implementation of corrective actions and continual improvement projects
  • Reviewing understanding of NATA requirements
  • Completing purchasing requisitions and monitoring delivery status with SCM in order to ensure efficiency for relevant sites
  • Participating in logistics operations such as:
  • Load outs
  • Backloads
  • Warehousing
  • Inventory duties
  • Arranging and tracking the logistics of inspection equipment to and from facilities
  • Travelling to sites both within Australia and offshore
  • Assisting workshop personnel with routine and scheduled maintenance of equipment, including conducting stocktakes of consumable products

  • Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems;
  • Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems for the Company; and
  • Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Qualifications and Training

  • Relevant state Radiation licence (desirable)
  • ISO 9712 Level II Magnetic Particle (MT) or equivalent (desirable)
  • ISO 97012 Level II Liquid Penetrant (PT) (desirable):
  • Radiographic Testing (RT)
  • Ultrasonic Testing desirable (UT)


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience conducting testing in the relevant disciplines and may have held previous certification (desirable)
  • Have a general knowledge of other NDT methods, product manufacturing and inspection technology used by the company performing NDT
  • Experience in working as part of a team and being able to take on directives
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry

Required Skills and Aptitudes

  • Sound computer skills
  • Knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry including related Legislation, Acts and Regulations, Industry Standards and Codes
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
  • Willingness and ability to be proactive and forward thinking
  • Knowledge of NATA requirements
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks/environment
  • Knowledge of safety standards (e.g. Step Back 5x5, JSEA, HSEQ systems etc.)
