We are looking for a Vehicle Design Engineer in Chalfont, PA (1 hour from Philadelphia, PA) to join our growing team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will: Analyzes project requirements and perform the necessary design of robotic material handling systems and equipment, selecting the most appropriate configuration to meet specified cost, function and schedule goals. Responsibilities Designs autonomous vehicles to meet all customer requirements and all global, federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations within time and budget. Estimate material cost, time and labor for material handling equipment and/or product line equipment with consideration for correct application and manufacturability. Troubleshoot escalated technical issues. Build vendor relationships to ensure selection of materials and systems while meeting quality and cost guidelines. Interface with customer with regard to technical inquiries, including on-site technical support during initial design preparation, commissioning, and/or post-production, as required to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction. Individually or as part of a team, has major responsibilities for internal and external projects and the latitude to select the most economically feasible solution to each assigned project. Exercises their creative abilities to question current practices and propose novel methodologies to solve design challenges. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications BS Mechanical Engineer Required MS in Mechanical Engineering desired Minimum of 5 years experience in product development mechanical design Familiarity with designing hydraulic systems required Ability to create detail, assembly and layout drawings. Proficient in AutoCAD, 3D modeling, Pro/Engineer/Creo required FEA analysis desired DFEMA experience desired Ability to manage multiple priorities and workload demands Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques Ability to travel, domestic and international, up to 25% Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
