Emerson POOLING - Lead Component Engineer in Pasig, Philippines

Job Summary:

If you are looking for an opportunity in Lead Component Engineer, Emerson has an excellent role for you! The Lead Component Engineer handles the component engineering team responsible for providing engineering support for DeltaV and ETS hardware product to ensure that component availability and end-of-life issues are proactively addressed in a manner that minimizes the impact of DeltaV and ETS new product development efforts and ongoing operations.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Manage a team of component engineers, delegate work assignments, report the group’s progress and perform administrative tasks related to the team

  • Advises engineering design team on component costs, quality, lead times, obsolescence, replacements and multiple source issues while working with internal team members and contract manufacturers.

  • Perform reviews and analyzes components used in current product and/or proposed for new product development; current availability, encouraged lifecycle and alternate source options when available.

  • Ensures components are selected in accordance with global sourcing strategies, including cost, life-cycle, quality, and overall supply chain risk

  • Identifies and provides initial qualification for second and third sources for components that are currently single sourced.

  • Develops qualification test plan for approval of any alternate sources and conducts component-level & system-level testing to ensure its compatibility on existing designs and maintains test records of all qualification results (Pass/Fail).

  • Provides detailed analysis of differences between first / second / third source data sheets

  • Supervises product bill of materials for end of life parts, targeting for earliest possible communication

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or related

  • Ability to work with component level EOL alert and change notification tools such as Silicon Expert

  • Minimum 6 years of related work experience in Component Engineering or Hardware Engineering including:

  • Analog and digital circuit design

  • Embedded microprocessor & FPGA

  • Understanding of signal integrity for high speed design

  • On board power supply design

  • Background in hardware testing and troubleshooting

  • Prior technical leadership or supervisory experience

  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English

  • Analytical ability to resolve and develop solutions to moderately sophisticated problems

  • Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities

  • Experience working with multiple countries and cultures, exchanging information

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Knowledge in EMC principles, techniques and testing

  • Experience in using Product Lifecycle management (PLM) or related software / tools
