**Electrical Engineering Climate SME Technical Support - Tyndall AFB, FL

**JOB SUMMARY: BBandE is seeking an Electrical Engineering Climate SME Technical Support at Tyndall AFB, FL in support of AFCEC/CO. 100% Telework option on case-by-case basis.

JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: **

  • The Contractor shall provide technical support and facilities planning in support of the Electrical Engineering program, to include providing professional reviews, assessments, and assisting in development, updating and coordination of engineering criteria documents to include UFCs, UFGS, AFIs, playbooks and other relevant engineering guidance.
  • The Contractor shall provide technical project reviews and assistance during the development, update and/or revisions of power system models, studies and reports.
  • The Contractor shall help validate system study recommendations to address identified deficiencies and interface with AF bases/installations to help facilitate the development of project programming documentation.
  • The Contractor shall consolidate and condense information from multiple studies for the development of status reports and briefings.
  • The Contractor shall assist with fielding questions that come from the base installations. This may involve research analysis, calculations, and reports related to electrical power generation.
  • The contractor shall assist with development, review of training plans and courses.
  • The Contractor shall perform site visits to assist the bases with electrical issues.
  • The Contractor shall assist in documenting program files, organizing files and providing administrative support, such as updating and maintaining technical support resources such as CE DASH requests.
  • Estimated tasks include assisting with 30-55 professional reviews and assessments annually.
  • Assisting in development, updating and coordination of 30-40 of each of the following: engineering criteria documents; power system models; project reviews; performing five (5) to 10 site visits, and updating and maintaining technical support resources such as 70-90 CE DASH requests annually.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of five (5) years of experience.

JOB QUALIFICATION and SKILLS:

  • Must possess a minimum five (5) years' experience directly related to the design, construction and operation of electrical distribution systems.
  • Must have experience in energy savings/ resilience systems such as microgrids, photovoltaic solar arrays, combined heat and power systems, and large-scale battery systems.
  • Contractor needs to be familiar with modeling, analyzing and studying large electrical systems to determine the condition, vulnerability and operational capabilities of electrical infrastructure.
  • Must also be familiar with all DoD and AF engineering policies/concepts to include:

    1) Development of SOW and funding documents in support of the Electrical program. 2) Development of technical specifications, design and construction documents, operating instructions, and commissioning/retro-commissioning documents to include performance verification. 3) Application of electrical codes and DoD criteria governing the design and operation of electrical systems. 4) Investigations using engineering judgement and resolving issues with the operation, design, construction and commissioning electrical systems. 5) Demonstrated understanding of electrical utility system installation design applications as well as operation and maintenance activities. 6) Demonstrated ability to show a working knowledge and familiarity with NFPA, NETA, NESC, NEMA and IEEE requirements that govern power generation at the distribution and low voltage. 7) Familiarity with Air Force Instructions (AFI), Unified Facility Criteria (UFC), and other DoD technical documents.

  • Other Considerations: This position can be filled with q alified individuals who can telework or work part-time who have the appropriate technical background requirements (KSAs shown above) and experience. Note: an initial on-site (Tyndall AFB, FL) checking in period is required to be able to be issued a Government computer with accessories and a permanent CAC card after passing the Government background investigation.

  • Certifications: Professional Engineer License preferred
  • Security Requirement: US Citizenship with background check.
