Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a Wayfinding Planner for immediate employment to work with our team in our Orlando, FL office.

There is a strong focus on wayfinding planning and project management in this role. We work on a variety of projects across many industries which could include: museums, universities, medical facilities, airports & transportation, parks & trails, corporate offices, and much more. Our ideal candidate will be highly motivated and collaborative with a solid foundation in wayfinding strategy. Time management, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail are required to handle multiple tasks to meet demanding deadlines.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the implementation of wayfinding projects from conception to completion.

  • Assess the environment to understand the space and the :behavior of people within it to create effective wayfinding systems.

  • Develop comprehensive wayfinding strategies that align with the goals and identity of the space.

  • Prepare design intent documents including drawings, sign schedules, and technical specifications.

  • Work closely with architects, designers, and stakeholders to integrate wayfinding elements into the overall design.

  • Review and specify new products and technologies to enhance traditional wayfinding methods.

  • Review wayfinding systems for compliance with accessibility standards.

  • Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and make informed decisions.

  • Prepare ROM estimates for implementation.

  • Review and mark up deliverables prepared by other team members.

  • Review shop drawings, materials/color samples, prototypes, and perform punch list reviews.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial design, communication/graphic design, experience design, architecture, digital media, urban design, or comparable field and six (6) years of full-time employment related to wayfinding planning and project management or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years of wayfinding experience

  • Background in wayfinding strategy and understanding of human behavior

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Strong verbal/written skills to communicate effectively with clients, fabricators, and other team members

  • Solid knowledge of materials and fabrication/installation methods used in wayfinding and signage

  • ADA and building code knowledge/experience

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of professional disciplines, peers, and clients with a positive attitude

Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $90,000.00 - $105,000.00.
