Position Summary

The Assembly Supervisor’s primary role is to support project development by managing the completion of assembly work as required in support of various projects. The Assembly Supervisor manages the efforts of the Technician Group as they perform assembly, integration, factory testing, field installation, and testing/debugging of Oceaneering Entertainment Systems (OES) systems. The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating all assembly work as required. Project support primarily occurs in Hanover, MD but at times may require travel to field locations in the US and possibly abroad.

Duties & Responsibilities

Functions

  • Supervise the day to day activities of the technicians and assembly work performed.

  • Oversee assembly personnel and monitor performance.

  • Assure a safe working environment and that personnel are properly trained, operating safely, and following safety procedures.

  • Assure understanding of and enforce corporate procedures, standards, and rules.

  • Travel may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has supervisory responsibilties.

Reporting Relationship

  • Reports to Assembly Superintendent

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 10 years of direct, hands-on experience in area of expertise (mechanical, electro-hydraulic, electrical, electronics) with at least 3 years of experience with equipment significantly similar to that produced by the division assigned.

  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively in all aspects of the area of expertise.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills as necessary to direct technicians.

  • Able to interact with Project Engineers to solve any method or process issues that arise.

  • Able to assign the technicians to the proper work assignments based on areas of expertise (mechanical, electro-hydraulic, electrical, electronics) for a variety of projects.

  • Candidate will have to perform in an ISO-9000 rated company in a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphere.

  • A current valid passport is required.

Working Conditions

This position is considered SHOP/INDOORS which is characterized as follows.

  • Primarily indoors during the day and occasionally at night.

  • Frequently working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.

  • When outdoors, humidity is frequently above 90%

  • Noise is over 85 decibels.

  • Light is intense/glare.

  • Occasional exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.

  • Frequent exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.

Physical Activity/Requirements

Physical demands are classified as MEDIUM WORK. Protective equipment will be required to be worn at all times. Work includes: handle and manipulate objects, exhibit hand/eye coordination, move objects weighing 50+ pounds from ground/waist/overhead levels, see/hear with or without correction.

This position is considered MEDIUM work.

  • Lift 20-50 pounds Work in confined spaces, kneel, jump, run, work while lying on stomach/back, crawl, and use repetitive movements of the arms and hands. Identify color differences Wear PPE for skin protection

  • Lift 10-25 pounds Climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects Twist body, sit with back supported, head forward/flexed, head tilted/rotated, and work with arms extended overhead. Operate a motor vehicle

  • Lift up to 10 pounds Wear PPE protection for body, vision, and hearing protection
