The Project Engineer is the liaison between the Project Manager and subcontractors. The Project Engineer also works in conjunction with the Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager, and SiteOperations Manager in the overall administration of projects. This position reports to the Project Manager, Operations Manager, or Senior Project Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Administer distribution of plans and specifications to subcontractors and coordinate the overall subcontractor solicitation process.
  • Assist PM in preliminary project budget from estimate and ensure accuracy of financial forecasts.
  • Assist PM in monitoring the project budget throughout the project.
  • Assist PM in coordinating project implementation and ensure projects are completed according to the project plans. Update the schedules with input from the Project/Site Operations Manager throughout the project as needed.
  • Responsible for all aspects of buying out portions of the job when directed by the Project Manager.
  • Company liaison with subcontractors to address any aspect of the project in the absence of the Project Manager.
  • Establish and manage the general project filing system.
  • Maintain the Submittal Log and coordinate the orderly and expeditious approval by the architect/engineer of all necessary submittals (shop drawings, samples, catalog cuts, etc.).
  • Create or assist with issuing subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Assist with the verification and timely processing of subcontractor and owner pay requisitions.
  • Create owner and subcontractor change orders. Maintain accurate Change Order Log and track.
  • Review/approval by the architect and owner.
  • Create or assist the Site Operations Manager with requests for equipment rentals, materials and necessary documentation to support the project.
  • Prepare project documentation and correspondence in proper format and written by company guidelines.
  • Develop and assemble close-out documents (as-built drawings, operating manuals, shop drawings, guarantees).
  • Assist PM in ensuring the quality of work and Document performance concerns of subcontractors.
  • Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and training skills to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.
  • Perform additional tasks or functions in response to directions and priorities as directed.
