Position: HR Manager (Contract)

Duration: 3-6 month contract

Location: Oakland, CA | Hybrid, 1-2 days on-site.

Robert Half is looking for a diligent Human Resources Manager to join our client's team in Oakland, CA. This role involves a wide range of HR functions, including but not limited to employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, and training. The HR Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with state requirements and managing various HR-related projects.

Responsibilities:

• Manage employee relations end-to-end, including conducting intake calls, investigations, and providing recommendations

• Coach, train, and support hiring managers in various processes and address their questions

• Ensure compliance with California labor law, understanding and fulfilling state requirements

• Administer all aspects of HR, including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, training, offboarding, and open enrollment

• Support benefits functions, such as leave of absence experience, ADA accommodation, and compliance

• Conduct audits to ensure compliance in terms of filing and data integrity in the system

• Carry out safety training with employees

• Take initiative to identify gaps and suggest improvements to processes

• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the importance of following processes

• Manage projects efficiently, ensuring high touch in service and timely completion

• Utilize HRIS and Google Suite for various HR functions

Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of Human Resources.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Benefit Functions and Compensation Administration.

• Strong knowledge of Compliance regulations and standards relevant to Human Resources.

• Proven ability in managing Employee Relations effectively.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.

• Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals.

• Proficient in using HR software and tools for data analysis and reporting.

• Strong decision-making skills with a problem-solving attitude.

• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.

• Relevant HR certifications will be considered an advantage.
