Wells Fargo Primary Markets BookBuild Senior Specialty Software Engineer in NEW YORK, New York

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Specialty Software Engineer specializing in Java with a background in Capital Markets Systems.

In order to stay competitive in the Capital Markets business, CIB decided to replace a third-party book building solution (for IG, HY, SPG, Agencies, and Preferred) with a new inhouse build (NITE) that is reliable, fully integrated into WF & third-party infrastructure (e.g. DirectBooks), and extensible to additional desks

This is a position for a senior Java developer, who should have specialty experience with Investment Banking technology, preferably in the Primary Issuance in Capital Markets space (Debt or Equity), or secondary market trading. Some specific expertise strongly recommended for this position is related to commonly used providers (S&P and Direct Books) protocols (FIX, SOAP, XML, REST/JSON) which is used by NITE application. The new person hired for this position will code, test, and implement enhancements and technical solutions as defined and prioritized by business unit. The person in this Lead developer role will also have a role to play in guiding a large offshore team which will also be contributing to the product. In addition to CTB activities this role will provide BAU support, ensuring platform stability and performance. The tech stack for the role is Java/Kafka/SQL

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact

  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs

  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors

  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of Java EE / Spring experience

  • 4+ years of technical design experience

  • 4+ years of experience with full Software Development Life Cycle using Agile, Iterative and/or Waterfall methodologies

  • 4+ years hands on experience in:

  • Cloud based software development - AWS, Azure, Tanzu/PCF

  • JDK11+, Java EE, Spring Boot, Spring Framework (data, Web, Kafka), Micro Services

  • Junit

  • Kafka or other event driven software

  • Tomcat Application Server, Netty or Weblogic

  • Maven, Gradle or any other build frameworks

Desired Qualifications:

  • Developing User Interface using ReactJS with Redux or Angular

  • Experience using Selenium, Qmetry or other Automation frameworks that support BDD constructs

  • Experience with FIX protocol

  • Demonstrate analytical, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills

$96,600.00 - $206,100.00
