Citigroup Payroll Analyst 2 - C10 - MUMBAI in Mumbai, India

The Payroll Analyst 2 is a developing professional role. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own team.

Responsibilities:

  • The Payroll Analyst's primary role is to ensure that processes are performed according to set procedures and in compliance with In-Country Governance. This role administers the payroll related activities for all legal vehicles covered by payroll. S/he may also be involved in special projects to support management. Job Description • Accountable for managing end to end payroll processing and other related transactions for all legal vehicles covering all business segments and all types of employees.• Responsible for working in partnership with Citibank’s vendor (as applicable) on the payroll deliverables • Partner and support Citibank’s HR partners, business heads and designated authorized officers to deliver efficient and high level of customer service.• Responsible and accountable for performing end to end payroll reconciliation steps and manage employee enquires.• Ensure to complete statutory and regulatory payroll remittances and reporting within the due date • Accountable for ensuring Compliance with all local regulatory and legal requirements • Responsible for audit requirements are met both internal and external.• Responsible for the security and confidentiality of sensitive data that will be handled.• Accountable for creating and maintaining standard operating manuals for all payroll processes.• Drives change and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement within the team.• Responsible for keeping up to date knowledge on key HR and applications required to assist in processing payroll• Accountable to meet all SLAs and KPIs.• May be required to perform other related work that may be assigned by direct Line Manager or management to meet the needs of the business.• Responsible and accountable for adhoc tasks assigned as well as testing as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years relevant experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area.

  • Specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data.

  • Should have good knowledge of payroll and taxes and should also have knowledge of basic accounting principal.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

Skills: (technical skills)

Essential

• Excellent English written & verbal communication skills

• Effective time management, documentation and organizational skills

• Good problem-solving skills; is able to grasp complex issues and provide solutions

• Strong interpersonal skills; has ability to develop strong partnership with stakeholders

• Able to handle high volume of work

• Expert in excel skills. Should have knowledge of all prominent excel functions used for calculations and analysis

Desirable

• Excellent English written & verbal communication skills

• Good problem-solving skills; is able to grasp complex issues and provide solutions

• Strong interpersonal skills; has ability to develop strong partnership with stakeholders

• Able to handle high volume of work

• Knowledge of advance Excel would be an added advantage
