Engineering Coordinator

SUMMARY

The Engineering Coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the hotel as it pertains to engineering and the Engineering leadership team. This role will contribute to the organization as an active business partner that is responsible for supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist Engineering leadership team in creating, implementing and executing department trainings, accident prevention, safety training and innovative pre-shift programs.

  • Assist in managing associate engagement, scheduling, payroll, counseling and quarterly department meetings.

  • Manage coordination and scheduling, as well as follow-up for Preventive Maintenance Programs, energy conservation and HLP tracking processes.

  • Process repair and maintenance work orders, including the coordination of CMMS, department checkbook; including purchase order / invoice processing and inventory procurement of parts and supplies.

  • Ensure neatness and cleanliness of the engineering office and all areas under the direct control of the department.

  • Participate in daily shift turnovers and monthly Engineering department meetings (responsible for taking and transcribing meeting minutes).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school or equivalent education required

  • Excellent analytic ability, knowledge in research methods and basic statistics to analyze data and formulate conclusions and action steps from results.

  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years of administrative experience

  • Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write and understand English eloquently

  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; daily use of nearly all programs will occur

PREFERRED

  • Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Most work tasks are performed indoors. Position requires sitting, walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to move office supplies, set up files and storage. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
