The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is seeking a knowledgeable Senior Geoscientist to join their Geologic Mapping Division! If you have experience in hydrogeological studies and the drive for professional career growth, this is the position for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Senior Geoscientist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties for the Groundwater and Environmental Geology Section of the Geologic Mapping Division. Some of these duties include conducting geologic investigations, collecting data, and preparing informative guides for places of geological interest that address subsurface and hazardous conditions. With the assistance of your supervisor, you will conceive, plan, and execute research regarding groundwater modeling as well as recognize and explain geological areas of concern that have the potential to pose health threats and other geological engineering concerns. You will attend and participate in local and county government meetings where these concerns will be addressed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days in a 10 day pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Middletown. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Geoscientist (commonwealth title); or Possession of an active license as a professional geologist issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Two years of professional geology experience, and a bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, geosciences, geophysics, geochemistry, engineering geology, or a closely related field that includes 30 college credits in geology, geophysics, geochemistry, engineering geology, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
