This role is based at our Manchester, Deansgate, office. We have a hybrid working model which is 3 days together, 2 days wherever.

Collaborating daily within a team of developers and designers, to achieve the goals and objectives that aligns with developing the digital growth of our wider organisation. They need experience in creating new solutions, integrate vital designs, and problem solving, to ensure our product is at the best possible standard for our customers.

What you’ll be doing

Technical Leadership

Provide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team, promoting best practices in software development and architecture. Lead by example, staying up to date with the latest technologies and trends.

Team Management

Manage and mentor a team of talented engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their full potential and career growth.

Project Management

Oversee the development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.

Technology Stack

Demonstrate proficiency in the following technologies: React, Node, AWS (Amazon Web Services), BrowserStack, component sharing, GraphQL. Experience with NextJS, Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe analytics would be beneficial.

Innovation

Drive innovation within the engineering team by exploring and integrating cutting-edge technologies such as GenAI into our projects to improve efficiency and customer experience.

Delivery Excellence

Champion the implementation of best practices in development methodologies, code reviews, and testing processes to ensure the delivery of robust and scalable software solutions.

Communication

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and stakeholders, to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Skills and Experience

Must have

  • Extensive experience in leveraging TypeScript, ReactJS, and NodeJS technology to deliver end to end web applications.

  • Extensive experience in leveraging at least one major cloud provider, preferably AWS, to deliver cloud-native applications is highly desired.

  • Excellent technical leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, etc.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Bonus skills

  • Familiarity with Dynatrace or other monitoring and observability tools.

  • Familiarity with BFF (Backend for Frontend) and Micro-Service Architecture.

  • Familiarity with building reusable features as capability

  • Familiarity with CI-CD Pipelines, Agile Methodologies and Jira as a project management tool

  • TDD Frameworks and Automation Tools like Cypress, BrowserStack, Selenium etc

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and practices will be advantageous. Additionally, experience using analytics to enhance funnel conversion is beneficial for optimising our digital solutions.

  • Guides partnerships with business and operational stakeholders to conduct business and technical discovery.

  • Knowledge of the telco domain is a bonus as it will help you better understand our industry-specific challenges and requirements.
