Responsibilities

Weatherford has a great opportunity for an experienced Finance Analyst to join the team in Luanda, Angola. The Finance Analyst leads all day-to-day accounting operations. Responsibilities include production of financial reports; proper maintenance of accounting records; accurate processing of financial transactions; and monitoring of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and country local reporting standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide financial leadership and support to Area controller and Country Manager in the day to day running of the Country.

  • Coordinate and prepare year-end financial statements as main focal point for statutory audit to ensure timely and accurate filings.

  • Maintaining and monitoring internal controls over all Country finances and ensure that such internal controls are consistent company policy. Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are communicated and monitored.

  • Review and sign off quarterly balance sheet exposure and responsible for timely closure of exposure items and balance sheet integrity.

  • Support with review and analyse key financial results and recommend continuous productivity improvement plans.

  • Reviewing and authorizing staff payroll on a monthly basis and ensuring that all statutory deductions are effected and remitted within the stipulated period(s).

  • Approving payments and ensuring that all bank transactions conform to the agreed upon banking contacts, controls, and arrangements.

  • Ensure working capital optimization and cash management

  • Responsible for timely review and submission of monthly FX exposure report to corporate office.

  • Oversee the assessment of the country’s risk management and control processes(CSA) and report any deficiencies.

  • Legal Entity ownership and Directorship.

  • Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

  • Provide support, guidance, and education to Country Support Leads/operations managers.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related qualification from college or university.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a multinational environment and Oil & Gas or Mining Industry.

  • Proven management experience.

  • Previous US GAAP reporting experience is advantageous.

  • General good IT knowledge and skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to motivate subordinates and team.

  • Ability to relate to and work with operations and top- level management.

  • Exercise initiative to improve accounting routines and financial reporting.
