As an SSD System Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., Solid State Drive (SSD) team, you are part of the Product Development Team (PDT) responsible for taking SSDs from design to high volume manufacturing.

This will involve supporting the Product Development Lead in delivering SSD products aligned with a product roadmap and schedule; having a system level understanding of the product in order to lead debug of system level issues.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead debug activities during product development and drive technical issues to closure

  • Perform SSD system level testing and characterization

  • Provide updates to the Product Development Team

  • Feed forward system lessons learned for future products

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of drive capabilities

For this position, you must have the ability to work in a team environment and maintain good relationships with worldwide suppliers and customers. It is also essential to have very good verbal and written skills in addition to excellent documentation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Technical capabilities should include:

  • Failure Analysis through a structed problem solving methodology with hands on lab experience

  • Ability to plan, schedule and prioritize tasks

  • Comprehension of the latest storage PCIe and NVMe interface specifications, and their implementation

  • Comprehension of NAND and DRAM media specifications and operation

  • Ability to drive system engineering efforts through all aspects of new product development and system level debug

  • Ability to work with and maintain productive relationships with other functional teams, internal customers and external customers and partners

  • Effective communication skills with cross functional development teams, peers, and management

Education and Experience:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related field

  • Knowledge of SSD products and system application

  • Hardware design and debug hands-on experience and proficiency with common lab tools such as logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes etc.

  • Python Proficiency

  • Experience with NAND flash and SSD ASIC

  • Understanding of PCIe and NVMe interface protocol and ability to quickly learn latest interface standards

  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$133,000.00 - $227,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
