The Utah State University Libraries is seeking a dynamic and collaborative candidate for the position of Instructional Design Librarian. This role is pivotal in supporting the USU Libraries' commitment to advancing teaching and learning through innovative instructional practices and inclusive pedagogy. The Instructional Design Librarian will contribute to the interdisciplinary instruction efforts within the Student Learning and Academic Empowerment Unit, working closely with library colleagues and campus partners to develop and implement effective instructional resources for undergraduate students. This position also engages with students and faculty as a member of a broadly defined disciplinary library team.

Reporting to the head of the Student Learning and Academic Empowerment unit, the position is a 12-month, tenure-track faculty appointment. Support and mentorship are built into the tenure process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support for undergraduate instructional design initiatives, focusing on pedagogical innovation and emerging research tools to enhance student learning experiences in the classroom and online
  • Provide instruction for early undergraduate programs such as English Composition, Concurrent Enrollment, and support initiatives to integrate library instruction materials and workshops, fostering foundational research skills among students
