Covenant Health COORD SPECIAL EDUCATION in Lewiston, Maine

Job Summary

Renaissance School is looking for a Special Education Coordinator to join our clinically intensive day treatment program for students in grades K-8. This role includes, but is not limited to, oversight of curriculum, classroom instruction, academic testing, staff certification, and compliance with applicable regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Education Administration or related field

  • Must hold 030 Administrators of Special Education certification, 035 Assistant Administrators of Special Education certification, or a superior certificate

  • Will consider and provide supervision for Conditional 030 or 035 certification holders

  • Will consider and provide supervision for a Special Education Teacher with 282 certifications, a master’s degree, and one year of prior administrative experience

  • Department of Education Criminal History Record Check required (fingerprinting)

    Experience:

  • 1-3 years Special Education supervision or school management desired

    Other Skills Required:

  • Ability to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team and a solid understanding of the role on the team

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

  • Adaptable to the ever-changing needs of students
