EBA Engineering, Inc. Structural Bridge Inspector in Laurel, Maryland

POSITION SUMMARY

EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) is seeking several highly motivated people to join our Construction Management and Inspection team. We have current openings for construction inspectors with 5 or more years of experience in the building or rehabilitation of roadways, bridges, tunnels, and facilities. Positions are available in both Maryland and Virginia.

The ideal candidate for this position would be someone with construction field experience.

NATURE OF WORK

This position requires technical construction inspection work in bridge highway, tunnel, rail, and/or facilities. Individuals working at this level are responsible for supervising and inspecting moderately complex projects. Assignments are received orally or in written form and may require the applicant to perform work independently.

Employees will receive supervision from higher-level construction inspectors or professional engineers.

Applicants will be required to obtain the Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP) certifications in soils and aggregate compaction, concrete field technician, and HMA field technician. If needed, EBA will provide training and classes to acquire certification.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience or certification in concrete, soil and asphalt field testing.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF WORK

Proficient in math and English; introductory knowledge of construction practices and techniques; working knowledge of bridge and structure, road and highway construction inspection principles, practices, methods, and tests; able to read and interpret plans and specifications; able to use engineering reference materials; able to supervise, lend guidance, and train lower-level inspectors and technicians; able to perform clerical work and prepare daily reports; able to supervise the inspection of small to medium size highway construction projects and verify compliance with plans and specifications; able to work effectively with others; and demonstrate basic computer skills.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Must have a valid driver's license

Must be eligible to work in the United States

Able to pass a background check and drug test

Must have reliable transportation

High school diploma or a high school equivalence certification

Note: Applicants may substitute education in an engineering curriculum at an accredited junior college, college, or university at the rate of (30) semester credit hours for one year of required experience.
