Skookum is seeking a reliable and technically skilled Shop Foreman to join a team dedicated to supporting our nation's military service members. Our Fleet Department thrives on strong relationships built by partnership, integrity, and excellence. You will perform a variety of minor repairs and services to maintain all motor vehicles, including military vehicles such as HMMWV's, FMTV's, HEMTT's, STRYKER's, TRAILER's, GEN sets, and small engines. The Shop Foreman is directly responsible for overall shop operations, which includes production, quality, HAZMAT compliance, shop safety, and addressing personnel issues to management. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Reviews all technician work-in-progress to ensure quality and timeliness. Must be knowledgeable with all the Army maintenance levels of repairs and be able to perform and/or mentor all assigned mechanics on properly servicing, repairing, and troubleshooting techniques on military equipment to include, but not limited to wheeled vehicles, track vehicles, engineering equipment, power generation, & material handling equipment. Must be able to interpret Technical Manuals, Lubrication Orders, and regulations as they pertain to the mission. Ensures that all forms and records are properly annotated and that all required reports are submitted in a timely manner. Performs spot checks and makes on-the-spot corrections to ensure the highest quality of performance is achieved and maintained. Validates all times being charged to a work order daily to avoid any excessive hours being charged to the government. Verifies that "Time and Attendance" sheets are filled out accurately throughout the day. Must be knowledgeable in all areas of shop operations, shop safety and HAZMAT. Ensure that these areas are always in the highest state of readiness and compliance. Ensures that completed contract units submitted to Quality Control meet quality specifications. Responsible for good housekeeping, cleanliness, and safe working conditions within the shop. Ensures Company rules, regulations and policies are followed. Initiates progressive disciplinary action when necessary. Instructs, leads, and encourages the efforts of between 8 and 20 direct labor personnel. Must be able to conduct performance reviews and implement motivation strategies such as employee recognition. Must be able to instruct/train new employees on proper procedures and techniques.
