Description:

The purpose of this position is to provide visionary and strategic thinking to develop, implement, and continually refine unified programmatic guidelines and expectations across all five retail divisions for refrigeration system and equipment replacements, installations, startup, and commissioning in all new stores, remodels, and special projects (over 250 major projects annually). This position will also be responsible for ensuring high quality, timely, and safe execution of refrigeration installation projects in accordance with these guidelines through site visits, coordination with retail refrigeration managers and refrigeration construction project managers, and communication with refrigeration vendor leadership. Additionally, this position is responsible for tracking project schedules and coordinating with the Publix Facilities contracting team to ensure adequate forecasting and vendor staffing for refrigeration installations in new stores, remodels, and special projects in support of Publix’s three-year plan.

Year End Bonus:

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

Required Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid driver’s license

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Building Construction, Business, or equivalent experience

• 7 years’ experience managing construction projects or processes OR 7 years’ experience managing refrigeration installation projects

• Knowledge of construction management and safety practices

• ability to work effectively without close supervision or guidance

• ability to self-direct work activities and take action on tasks without direction from a supervisor

• ability to set priorities, plan and coordinate work activities, schedule staff, and obtain and manage resources

• Data analysis, detail orientated, problem solving, and strategic thinking

• ability to develop and maintain professional, trusting, positive, and productive working relationships with associates, managers, customers, and vendors

• The ability to persuade, convince or achieve buy-in from others

• ability to motivate and guide others to work hard by building a sense of teamwork and commitment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Building Construction, Business, or equivalent experience

• 10 years’ experience managing construction projects or processes OR 10 years’ experience managing refrigeration installation projects

• EPA Universal Certification

• Project Management Professional

• Engineer Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE)

• General Contractor License

• Knowledge of supermarket refrigeration systems

• Knowledge of refrigeration commissioning processes

• Knowledge of Publix strategy, retail operations, food safety, and Facilities’ policies and procedures

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
