Position Summary

The NDT Technician Level I will assist in performing RT, UT, MT, PT and NDT industrial inspections of onshore / offshore piping, pipelines, pressure vessels, and structural components.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists Level II Technicians in radiographic testing in accordance with applicable regulations, codes, practices, and procedures.

  • Loads and processes film.

  • Be trained to read and interpret film.

  • Learns to prepare, set-up and complete all necessary paperwork.

  • Assists Level II in conducting tests in other NDT methods.

  • Must be able to travel and work on a call-out basis both domestically & internationally.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Assists other technicians.

  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, pays special attention to health and safety policies.

  • Must be able to work in harsh environments.

  • Performs other duties as required.


  • Entry level, 0 to 6 months applicable experience.

  • Must be able to certify to ASNT-TC-1A Level II.

  • Must be able to pass Safe Gulf & HUET Water Survival training.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a TWICcard, valid Passport, Safe Gulf & HUET Water Survival.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license


  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  • Two (2) years of documented RT Level I work experience.

  • Documented RT training per SNT-TC-1A.

Additional Information

This position is considered ONSHORE and OFFSHORE WORK which is characterized as follows:

  • Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.

  • Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.

  • Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels and the light is intense/glare.

  • Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.

  • Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.

  • Work surface is stable, height is elevated.

  • Lifts 20-50 pounds.

  • Works in confined spaces, kneels, jumps, runs, works while lying on stomach/back, crawls, and uses repetitive movements of the arms and hands.

  • Identifies color differences.

  • Wears PPE for skin protection.


  • Lifts 10-25 pounds.

  • Climbs stairs/ladders, stands, balances, stoops, squats, reaches, and lifts/carries objects.

  • Twists body, sits with back supported, head forward/flexed, head tilted/rotated, and works with arms extended overhead.

  • Operates a motor vehicle.


  • Lifts up to 10 pounds.

  • Wears PPE protection for body, vision, and hearing protection.
