Position Summary:

A concrete finisher is required to perform a variety of tasks including placing, finishing, protecting and repairing concrete.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near-misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety first, in everything we do.

• Operates a screed to level freshly placed concrete according to grade and depth specification .

• Smooth concrete surface using either a hand trowel, long handled “bull float” or powered float.

• C ut joints/grooves in concrete with edging tools to help control cracking.

• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.

• Monitor the wind, heat and cold as it aff ects the curing of the concrete.

  Qualifications:

• Must have good vision, stamina, good hand eye coordination and an ability t o estimate size and dimensions.

• Skill in smoothing, finishing freshly placed concrete, applying surface treatments an d restoring concrete surfaces.

• Required to perform task that include heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching.

• Must be able to work outdoors in areas that are dusty or dirty.

• Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.

• Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles.

• Team Play and with good interpersonal kills.

• Reliance on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.

• Dedicated and hard working.
