Position Summary The transmission integration team is looking for a team member with a strong interest in automotive technology. In this role, Mechanical Design Engineer - Powertrain will work closely with PACCAR suppliers and production facilities to integrate state of the art heavy and medium duty automated transmission products into Paccar vehicle platforms. Additionally, they will be responsible to resolve current manufacturing issues and implement cost and warranty improvements to existing products. This role will work with engine emission model year integration projects, integration of new automated and automatic transmissions, power take-off devices, and support new transmission functionality development projects. Job Functions / Responsibilities Coordinate technology, concept, and design reviews for transmission technology areas with key internal stakeholders Work directly with suppliers to understand new features and hardware changes and how they will integrate into Paccar vehicles. Support production liaison requests and bill of material maintenance. Review customer requests for transmission options and provide feedback to Kenworth dealers Utilize Pro/E to create optimized parts and assembly designs for new transmission and powertrain integration programs Use Six Sigma tools to support engineering gate reviews and validation activities for integration components and transmission feature sets. Qualifications / Skills BSME or equivalent required; Master's degree in business or engineering and P.E. certificate are preferred Experience in the specification and design of complex automotive components preferred Experience in the use of Pro/E or other CAD modeling software.
