Job Summary
Ingersoll Rand is seeking a qualified candidate for an engineering internship position at the Ivyland, PA location working with our Milton Roy division. The Ivyland, PA factory builds Milton Roy and its associated brands (LMI, Albin, Williams) metering and peristaltic pumps for the water treatment, oil and gas, chemical and other industrial applications. The pumps are pneumatically and motor driven pumps and require a unique blend of mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering knowledge to design and produce commercially. This position will work with the entire Milton Roy engineering team, including Engineered-To-Order (ETO) engineers, Sustaining Engineers, Manufacturing, and Project Engineers.This internship will expose the individual to projects that directly relate to their field of study and provide practical experience for future professional employment.
Responsibilities
Learn all aspects of the Engineered-To-Order (ETO) Process from job task requests through Engineering Change (EC) Completion
Complete projects that organize and update our drawing libraries and product bills of material across several different engineering software platforms
Use CAD software to make updates to product drawings
Learn CAD techniques related to system design and manufacturing. Understanding of general dimensioning and tolerance practices
Create and modify robust standard work that provides clear rules and direction for internal engineering processes
Assist with completing documentation packages for customers
Gather, catalog, and organize product data
Provide general assistance to MR Sustaining Engineers working on updates to various products
Build and assemble pump systems to develop broader knowledge base regarding the design and engineering of MR products
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field, preferred
Mechanical Engineering, preferred
Ability to interface with personnel at all levels and communicate effectively to complete goals set at the beginning of project assignment
Good written and verbal communication skills
Basic knowledge of 2D and 3D modelling software
Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks, a plus
Willing to perform hands on work when necessary to assemble and test products
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
Fully site based

Demonstrate awareness, self-discipline, ability to learn, and is a self-starter
Experience with standard Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) required
Ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams and members from other departments
