National Safety Council Program Manager I, Relationship Management in Itasca, Illinois

    We are currently looking for a Program Manager I, Relationship Management to join us in our mission to save lives and prevent injuries.

    Position Highlights:

The Program Manager I, Relationship Management is responsible for interacting and engaging with member organizations, focusing on growing value for those involved. This position manages operations of several avenues of member participation including in-person, virtual meetings, events, and application process. Additionally, this position will assist in disseminating NSC Network information to our members and the general public through various outreach activities and methods.

Implements and administers programs or manages all aspects of projects within a Practice: includes coordination on issue research, policy change initiatives or awareness activities, marketplace competitive analysis, and training/education content development and content accuracy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define the main objectives of the projects, their purpose, and scope.

  • Create integrated and ongoing project plans to include key deliverables and milestones and the tasks required to complete each.

  • Execute the work or assign work as part of the plan.

  • Monitor and control the processes/tasks associated with the project.

  • Provide knowledge, education, and awareness of products/services to NSC Networks members and guests.

  • Coordinate, edit, and post articles, blogs, or similar outreach documents for online publications.

  • Participate in trade shows or other similar events.

  • Engage in regular communication with, and build relationships in all directions (e.g., peers, supervisors, funders, stakeholders) to advance the program.

  • Support and encourage an environment that appreciates the diversity of employees' and stakeholders' styles, opinions, and perspectives.

  • Relay information, build consensus, fact-find, and maintain transparency and open exchange while keeping partners up-to-date and notified of program status and impact.

  • Communicate with other NSC initiatives, campaigns, and departments to identify potential dissemination and cross-collaboration opportunities.

    We’re Looking for Someone with: 

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience. In lieu of education, at least 6 years of relevant experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, nonprofit administration, project management, or similar required or equivalent experience preferred.

  • 4-6 years working in program or product management with responsibilities spanning multiple projects simultaneously, often with overlapping deadlines.

  • Experience working with volunteers of all levels, including skilled and pro-bono volunteers.

  • Ability to easily and quickly adapt to changing priorities.

  • Experience with Salesforce preferred.

  • Understanding of how marketing and communication strategies are developed and executed.

  • Works independently with moderate-to-minimal guidance.

  • Detail-oriented, with an eye toward organizational brand and reputation.

  • Takes initiative to research and identify solutions to problems presented by constituents.

  • 10-20% travel annually.

  • This is a remote position.

  • Salary range: $55,000 to $65,000.
