Job Description:

Primary Purpose of Role:

Working in close collaboration with the Procurement Commodity Management teams, the Contracts Specialist is responsible for the creation and maintenance of purchase orders and scheduling agreements, along with supporting documentation and authorization, for the procurement of goods and services from a supplier. The key responsibility of this role is ensuring that systems and records adhere to Procurement procedures and policies, corporate delegation of authority, and various government regulations or governance requirements. This position actively engages in resolving problems pertaining to any stakeholder concerns or issues, while also serving as an interface to Procurement on various transactions, reports, or other requirements for cross-functional departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains purchase orders and scheduling agreements, along with supporting documentation and authorization, for the acquisition of goods and services.

  • Assures systems and records are compliant with Procurement procedures and policies, Corporate delegation of authority, and other government regulations or governance requirements.

  • Participates in problem solving efforts as it relates to any stakeholder concerns or issues, and/or data within the Procurement Lifecycle Management processes.

  • Serves as an interface to Procurement on various transactions, reports, or problem solving requirements for Accounts Payable / Receivable, Treasury, and Global Supply Chain.

  • Manages Procurement files, reports, records, and programs on common repositories and collaboration sites.

  • Assures data integrity within the procurement master data system.

  • Prepares and analyzes reports and statistical data.

  • Independently manages the governance of the transactions that assure the accuracy of data within the master records. Assures that they are secure and accessible as required to the internal users and communicated to the supply base.

Required:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient computer skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.

  • Proficient in purchasing system (ERP) for entering orders, requisitions, problem solving, payment problems, tool orders, and miscellaneous reports as required.

  • Effective interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.

  • Demonstrated analytical ability where problems are complex.

  • Collaborates in a variety of work settings.

  • Ability to organize, plan, document tasks, and prioritize work.

  • Familiar with a variety of Purchasing / Global Supply Chain concepts.

  • Wide degree of creativity and latitude.

Qualifications

Required :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or similar field.

  • SAP or similar ERP experience

Experience

  • 0-2 or more years of experience in the field or in a related area.
